A Tamil wedding card (கல்யாண பத்திரிகை) is more than an announcement. Elders read it closely, so the details must be right:
- Pillayar suzhi (உ) and the family deity or kula deivam at the top.
- Muhurtham: Tamil year, month and date, day, nakshatram, yogam and lagnam, with the auspicious time.
- Names in the right order: the groom and bride with their parents, written with the honorifics your community uses (திரு, திருமதி, சிரஞ்சீவி, சௌபாக்கியவதி).
- Venue and events: mandapam, reception, nichayathartham or other functions.
- Hosts: the families inviting the guests, often with grandparents' blessings.
See our Tamil wedding invitation wording templates to start your text, then send it on WhatsApp. We lay it out on your chosen design and send a proof before printing.

A traditional Tamil Hindu invitation opens with the Pillayar suzhi (உ) and the family deity, then gives the muhurtham: Tamil year, month, date, day, nakshatram and lagnam with the time. It names the bride and groom with their parents, gives the venue, and ends with the hosts' names. We check this wording with every family before printing.
